Dead-Threads is a clothing brand independently owned by Peter Carpenter. Each design showcased is crafted by him, ensuring they are truly unique.

The site exclusively showcases black and white art and clothing options, a decision aimed at emphasizing the incredible artwork.

"At Dead-Threads, we defy the ordinary by rejecting mass production in favour of dark, evocative artistry. Our mission is to challenge the norm with clothing that pushes boundaries and embraces the raw beauty of the unconventional. Through meticulously crafted designs inspired by dreams and folklore, we create unique pieces that stand apart and make a bold statement. Committed to authenticity and individuality, dead-threads is where the allure of the mysterious meets the craftsmanship of the bespoke, offering you more than just fashion."

New designs include metamorph, the most recent design in the series showcasing the bizarre art work of Pete Carpenter. He says “When I designed Metamorph, I wanted it to provoke a reaction. The twisting tentacles, the raw emotion in the human features, the stark black-and-white contrasts—all of it is meant to make you pause, to feel something, wether its awe or disgust. Wearing this design isn’t just about fashion; it’s about embodying those emotions. It’s about carrying a piece of that raw, unfiltered humanity—and alienness—with you. The tentacles, with their moving textures, represent the forces in life that shape us, sometimes in ways we don’t fully understand. They’re invasive but also transformative, just like the challenges we face every day. When someone wears Metamorph, I want them to feel empowered by that transformation. I want them to own their complexity—the beautiful, the grotesque, and everything in between.

The human face in the design is about vulnerability. It’s raw and open, caught in a moment of change. That’s something we all experience, whether we acknowledge it or not. By wearing this design, you’re saying, I’m not afraid to show my evolution. I’m not afraid to be seen as I transform. It’s a bold statement, and one I hope resonates with anyone who fights the mundane.

The black-and-white palette is deliberate. It strips everything down to its essence, forcing you to focus on form. When translated to fabric or wearable art, this starkness becomes even more striking. It stands out, demands attention, and invites conversation. That’s what I want for anyone who wears Metamorph — to feel seen, to feel powerful, and to spark a dialogue about who they are and what they’re becoming.

For me, the act of wearing art is about more than just aesthetics. It’s about connection. When you wear Metamorph, you’re not just showcasing a design; It’s a way of saying, This is who I am, and I’m not afraid to show it.

I created Metamorph because I believe in the power of transformation—the beauty and the struggle of it. My hope is that when you wear this design, you feel that power too. You’re not just wearing art; you’re wearing a reminder that change is part of life, and it’s something to be embraced, not feared.”
